Toppers/wigs
Getting used to your wig - trying it on...
-
Start by holding the wig at the middle of the front hairline and give it a little shake to loosen the curls. Next hold the wig at the back with one hand each side of the sewn label. Tip your head slightly forward and pull on the wig from front to back just like a bathing cap. Slide it back until the front hairline just covers your own. When the two little tabs on either side rest against the temples just in front of the ears, the wig is positioned correctly. Then tuck in any of your own hair, which is still showing around the sides and back.
Ensuring a comfortable fit-
-
If your wig seems too loose or too tight take it off and adjust the two Velcro's tabs next to the label at the back of the wig. lf your hair is very long, it is best to pin it up before putting on your wig. Make sure to arrange your hair so the bulk is spread as evenly as possible.
Styling tips- (Acrylic)
-
Your NEW wig is amazingly easy to style because of its professionally designed construction. Gentle up and out brushing is all it needs.
-
Start the brush at the root of the wig. Pull the brush up and out twisting it away from the face. Then lightly smooth the outer wisps of the hair into place where you want them.
Wig Conditioner For Restoring Freshness-
-
After washing your wig and patting out excess water, spray conditioner sparingly on the damp fibres. Hang up the wig and leave overnight to dry. When and ONLY WHEN the wig is completely dry, a few brush strokes will bring back the styles healthy glow.

-
Store your wig on a stand away from damp & direct sunlight.
-
DO NOT USE A COMB OR BRUSH WHILST THE WIG IS DAMP OR WET -blot with a towel & allow it to air dry on your wig stand.
-
Wash occasionally every 10 wears & use wig caps to reduce build up of oils on your wig cap.
-
Use the refresh spray to remove unwanted odours
-
Don’t go swimming in your wig or hairpiece this will cause fade & damage to the hair
-
Don’t use heat synthetic wigs are not heat resistant , take care near ovens/ patio heaters as they can singe your wig.
-
Shedding over time your hairpiece will shed due to wear and tear, using wig tape on hairlines will accelerate shedding.
-
If your hair loss worsens adaptations may be required such has extra clips & wig bands may need to be added. I can help you with this but extra charges may be required to adapt the hair piece to suit.
-
Before washing, brush your wig thoroughly to remove all teasing and tangles. Make a solution of mild shampoo and cold water. Saturate the wig and gently dip in and out. DO NOT RUB. Then let it soak for three or four minutes.
-
Rinse in clear cold water, then wrap the wig in a towel, and press out excess moisture. DO NOT WRING IT OUT. Let it drip dry overnight at normal room temperature. NEVER BRUSH WHEN WET. DO NOT USE A HAIR DRYER, HEATED TONG OR IRONS. When you are sure it is dry, brush it back into the style of your choice.
-
WARNING: AVOID EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT AS THIS MAY DAMAGE THE FIBRE. BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL WHEN OPENING AN OVEN DOOR. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DYE YOUR WIG.

Human hair pieces are delicate & must be worn similar to fine jewellery to extend their lifespan.
-
Full aftercare is given on consultation, most clients will expect their topper or wig to have a lifespan of around 6-12 months but this will depend how often you wear the piece, the more you wear the shorter the lifespan, Over time the hair will shed &develop bald areas.
-
Any curl or wave in human hair isn't permanent & will need to be added in after the hair piece is wash & dried.

Texture of hair can vary from piece to piece as human hair is a natural product.
-
All human hair pieces will have been washed prior to collection so I can check the quality & texture.
-
Colour fade - your human hair piece will fade & discolour over time I can re- colour this service starts from £30 & all costs will be quoted before I carry out the recolouring. I will try to restore the original colour but this may not be achievable due to hairs natural structure. Staining from make up , sun cream & perfumes can occur -occasionally I can remove and re-colour. Please be careful when using products near your human hair pieces.

Heat styling use heat spray each time before you straighten or curl . Changing from wavy to straight wash your topper then straighten to avoid over use of heated tools.
